COVER LETTER-
During this unit I learned the math skills of standard form graphing, inequalities, systems of equations, and profit ines. These were all smaller topics of the main thing we were learning about, linear programming. Doing this unit helped me to understand math topics that will be needed in everyday life. I think that I were ever in situation where I needed to find a maximum profit I would feel confident about doing it right. This is a very big leap in the right direction because I almost never feel confident about my math skills. Something else I think I did well was standard form graphing. This is because I had been introduced to it my 8th grade year and I knew what to expect.
P.O.W Presentations:
THE ECONOMICAL KING-
To prepare for teaching a lesson to our parents at exhibition, we had a whole week to act almost as a teacher. We had to figure out a way to make our project as interactive as possible as well as making it easy to understand. To do this we created a document in our group that planned every single detail. Then we made posters, did a peer critique with higher level classes, and worked out every mistake until the day of exhibition. Through teaching this, my understanding of the POW improved greatly. This is beacause through explaining it I was able to find the more in depth version of the solution instead of only one way to do it. For example, finding both scenarios to find the theif in two moves instead of just the solution working in my favor. I figured this out through peer critique, proving that this is a very effective way to prepare for exhibition. Overall, I would say that this was a wonderful learning experience and I grew a lot in the process.
